Holography

Holography, particularly the AdS/CFT correspondence, is a powerful theoretical framework linking gravitational theories in Anti-de Sitter (AdS) space to lower-dimensional conformal field theories (CFTs). This duality provides a tool to study quantum gravity and strongly coupled quantum systems using more manageable quantum field theories. Our group leverages collective field theory to investigate how spacetime can emerge from the dynamics of a boundary conformal field theory (CFT). In the large-N limit of vector or matrix models, the standard degrees of freedom reorganize into collective variables—often interpreted as bulk fields—providing a natural language for emergent geometry.

We also focus on the Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model and its various deformations as a holographic dual model for black hole. The SYK model’s solvable large-N limit, rich entanglement structure, and maximal chaos make it an ideal testbed for understanding how a black hole geometry emerges from a strongly correlated quantum system. Building on recent progress in SYK model, our research explores degrees of freedom beyond the black hole horizon, seeking a consistent bulk description that captures both the exterior and interior regions of black hole horizon.
